This interactive installation is a tribute to Aaron Swartz, web developer and activist promoting knowledge sharing and Internet freedom, who left us in 2013. Users can activate the piece via Twitter by using the hashtag #OpenTeaching: upon receiving a set of tweets, the robot arm descends to symbolically press the button which sends out an email to university professors, inviting them to post their classroom lectures on the Web.
In this project my role was to create the interface that pulls the relevant messages from the Twitter API and generates a data visualization, as well as assist in the robotics programming.
